Chris Deyoe Jr Takes Lone Checkered Flag at Lancaster

REMAINDER OF PROGRAM CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER AND TRACK CONDITIONS FOLLOWING SUPER STOCK CRASH

LANCASTER, N.Y. (May 17, 2025) – The racing program at Lancaster Motorplex on Saturday, May 17th was called complete on lap 15 of the Super Stock feature following a crash in turn one that would involve the entire field. The cleanup of the crash along with the prolonged clean up, along with deuterating track conditions would have speedway management announce that the program was unable to be continued, and the racing events were deemed complete.

Dustin Nova and Eric Brown brought the Super Stocks to the green flag to the green flag for their feature event, with Nova in the lead. The caution would come out on lap five as Jason Dieter slowed in turn four. The restart would see Brian Hallett pass Brown for second and would go after race leader Nova. Jake Wylie would move into third place. Following a lap 15 caution, and as rain started to fall, the entire field would all get together in turn one, with Brian Hallett flipping over the turn one wall. All the drivers involved climbed out of their cars under their own power and were alert and talking with track safety personnel. The prolonged clean up, along with deuterating track conditions would have speedway management announce that the program was unable to be continued, and the racing events were deemed complete. Super Stock qualifying heats were won by Brian Hallett and Jason Dieter.

There was one feature race that was ran in its entirety and it was the Rusty Diamond Cores Pro 4 feature event, and reigning 4 Cylinder track champion Chris Deyoe Jr from East Otto, NY took home his first career big track victory. Mason Russo and John Byrd led the Rusty Diamond Cores Pro 4 to the green flag for their 15-lap feature event, with Russo in the lead ahead of Chris Deyoe Jr, and Ryan Hessler. Jimmy Dunkleman III worked his way to the 5th spot on lap five after starting dead last on the grid. Deyoe would take over the lead from Russo on lap eight. Chris Deyoe would hold off Russo and Hessler to score his first win on the big track.

The Must-See Racing Sprints presented by Perfit Parts were on hand for their second ever appearance to Lancaster Saturday night. Qualifying heats were won by Oswego, NY’s Logan Crisafulli and Boise, Idaho’s Davey Hamilton Jr. During time trials, Hamilton Jr set fast time with a lap of 15.489 seconds. 14 Must-See Sprints were on hand to participate in their 2025 National Touring Series opener. Lancaster Street Stock qualifying heats were won by defending track champion Mark Hoch from West Seneca and Dustin Novoa from Springville.

Racing continues at Lancaster Motorplex on Saturday, May 31st as the Sportsman return for their 50-lap special. The Street Stocks, 4 Cylinders, Mighty TQ Midgets, and the King Wolf Productions Big Wheels will all be on the card. Pit gates open at 2pm, with grandstands opening at 4pm, and racing will get underway at 6pm.
