Jankowiak, Hoch, and Deyoe Jr Crowned Lancaster Track Champions
Nye, Bryant, Brunka, Dunkleman, and Tychoniewicz Score Feature Wins
LANCASTER, N.Y. (September 20, 2025) – Saturday night was season championship night at Lancaster Motorplex for the stock car program, and it was second generation driver Andy Jankowiak from Tonawanda, NY winning his third Sportsman track championship. Mark Hoch from West Seneca, NY earned his fourth straight Street Stock track championship. Chris Deyoe Jr from East Otto, NY earned his second 4 Cylinder track championship, and he also won his first Rusty Diamond Cores Pro 4 track title.
Shawn Nye from Lancaster, NY won the Sportsman feature. Nathan Bryant from East Aurora, NY won the Street Stock main event. David Brunka from Cheektowaga, NY won the 4 Cylinder feature event. Mark Tychoniewicz from Ontario, NY won the CAMS Vintage Modified event. Jimmy Dunkleman III from North Collins, NY won the Rusty Diamond Cores Pro 4 main event.
Cory Grenzy and Carson Kelchlin were on the front row for the Sportsman feature event, with Kelchlin in the lead. Shawn Nye would take over the lead on lap three and would pull away from the field. George Skora III would take over third place on lap 14, with Trevor Catalano entering the top five on the same lap. Points leader Andy Jankowiak would battle with Catalano for fifth place at the race’s midway point. Skora would move into second place around lap 20 and would begin to chase down race leader Nye. Nye would hold off Skora
Alex Bialkowski and Troyer Catalano shared the front row for the Street Stock main event, with Catalano in the lead. Nathan Bryant would pass Dustin Novoa to take over third on lap three and then would pass Bialkowski to take over second place on lap seven. Bryant would pass Catalano to take over the lead on lap 12, with Dan Dressel, Mark Hoch, and Bialkowski racing in the top five. Hoch and Dressel would battle for third place over much of the second half of the race, as they both were able to reel in Catalano for second place. Bryant would score his fourth win of the season, but it was Hoch claiming the track championship.
Ben Adams and Chris Deyoe Jr were on the front row for the 4 Cylinder feature on Lancaster’s ¼-mile oval, with Deyoe in the lead. Hunter McKay and David Brunka would race their way into second and third respectively. Brunka would take over second on lap three and would go after race leader Deyoe. Brunka would then take over the top spot a couple of laps later. Hunter McKay would challenge Deyoe for second in the late going, but it was Brunka going on to score the win. Deyoe with his second-place finish would clinch the track championship.
Chris Deyoe Jr and Mason Russo brought the Rusty Diamond Cores Pro 4’s to the green flag for their main event, with Jimmy Dunkleman III taking the lead ahead of Patsy Catalano and Russo. Deyoe would race his way into fourth place after an initial green flag spin by him and Ryan Hessler. Dunkleman would go on to score the win, as Deyoe would claim the track championship.
CAMS Vintage Modifieds. Lee Sanders from Shortsville, Rich Littlefield from Pendleton, Rob Laskowski from Williamsville, and Mark Tychoniewicz from Ontario were on hand. Sanders won the qualifying heat, while Tychoniewicz dominated the main event in route to the victory.
Next weekend is the 37th Annual U.S. Open Weekend at Lancaster Motorplex. The weekend kicks off on Friday September 26th with an open practice from 6-9pm and then the traditional pit party staring Flipside from 9-11pm. Racing gets underway on Saturday the 27th with the Sportsman, Mighty TQ Midgets Series Championship event, Super Stocks, and the 4 Cylinders. Pit gates Saturday will open at noon, with grandstands opening at 2pm, and racing begins at 4:30pm. Sunday September 28th will be the 37th U.S. Open for the Tour-Type Modifieds, plus Street Stocks, Late Models, and the Rusty Diamond Cores Pro 4’s. Pit gates Sunday will open at 10:00am, with grandstands opening at 11:30am, and racing gets underway at 1:30pm.
