Opening Weekend Canceled Due to Rain
LANCASTER, N.Y. (May 2, 2025) – The 2025 season is off to a rainy start at Lancaster Motorplex as racing activities for both the stock car track and dragstrip have been canceled due to rain.
With standing water from this week’s severe thunderstorms and with more weather anticipated overnight and into Saturday morning, the decision was made to cancel all on-track activities for the weekend.
The stock car season opener will now take place on Saturday, May 10 at 2pm featuring the Sportsman, Street Stocks, Late Models, Mighty TQ Midgets, and the 4 Cylinders. Pit gates will open at 11am, with grandstands opening at 1pm, and racing beginning at 2pm.
The WDRA Drag Racing Opening Night will now take place on Friday, May 9. Grudge Drags and Cruise Nights will begin on Wednesday, May 7 at 6pm weather pending.
